colour runners cleaning tips!

How to get clean

Unless you want the colour from the run to stay with you for a long period, wash out the colour from your hair and skin ASAP. Some of the things that you can do can before the race to protect you getting coloured……………read on if you want to know!!

Some of the things to do BEFORE the run:

1.       Apply coconut/ olive oil to your hair evenly in the morning will make your job easier later on when the race ends. If you don’t want to apply oil, you can also choose to apply leave in conditional. ( more important for people who have lighter coloured or highlighted hair )

2.       Or or or, if you do not want to apply anything to your hair, wear a bandana. You can also use it to cover your mouth when running through the colour zone.

3.       To prevent the colour getting into your eyes, wear a sunglass or a goggle.

Don’t worry even when the powder gets in your eyes, remember they are food graded cornstarch. And it will be washed out eventually. Enjoy the colours!!

After the END of the run:

1.       There will be a ‘colour blow station’ that you will want to make use of it to remove the excess powder on you.

2.       Try to dust out all the powder in your hair. Rinse the oil/ conditional out of your hair with COLD water. Most of the powder should be washed off, it is uncommon that the colour retains in your hair.

3.       Remove all the excessive powder from your running gears and shirt before washing with COLD water. *remember to wash separately from your non-colour run attire*

some points to note is that if you want to minimize the amount of colour, always run in the middle of a crowd. Remember to wash off the colour immediately after the end of the race as the colour will sink in and is harder to remove when u let it sits on your skin or running gear. Some of you may like to wear glasses or goggles to protect your eyes and a bandana to cover your mouth in the colour zone.

Enjoy the colour bursting fun!
